Introducing Louw Lemmer

Introducing Louw Lemmer

Moving from his birth place in Windhoek in 1999 to his new home in Pretoria, aka Jacaranda city, Louw most certainly caught the travel bug at a very early age. This free spirited creative has been traveling for most of his life and has dedicated himself to capturing the beauty of our planet and its people through breathtaking imagery which tell stories of mystery and love and has since shaped his skills as a talented photographer.

Louw has a raw and untamed energy and sums himself up a “glass full to the brim” kind of guy, a hopeless romantic and family orientated. He believes that family and a good relationship with family is one of the core foundations to a happy and successful life.

Apart from his many years of travelling and keen eye for detail, Louw has developed a passion for people and a love for inspiring and educating. He is always pushing himself to his physical and mental limits which has allowed him to become a professional at his craft.

From all the beautiful local spots South Africa has to offer, Louw’s top local spots are the Garden Route and Cape Town and draws inspiration from the diverse population and scenery that bring out the best in his creativity.

Why is local travel so special in South Africa

When it comes to travelling across South Africa, I am definitely a veteran, which I regard as an incredible honour. Although I was born in Namibia, I have lived in the Rainbow Nation my entire life. It is my home, I love it here and I want to see as much as possible. This drive to explore my country makes me reflect on an important matter though. The age of content creation has brought a new dimension on what travel means to us, especially via platforms such as Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.

Favourite local spots to travel to

Every creator has a few local spots that they love more than any other; I am no different. Before I share my top picks with you, allow me to divulge some wisdom – if you can call it that: A location is only as good as your eagerness to be unique and drive to be creative. Regardless of how ordinary or spectacular, you want to get as much out of it as possible, and I say this from both a creative and traveller’s perspective. I definitely urge you not to be limited by location. With the right mentality, anywhere can become magical.

Introducing MzansiGirl

Introducing MzansiGirl

MzansiGirl, otherwise known as Meruschka Govender,  is one of South Africa’s most sought after travel influencers. She truly is the queen of travel content, sharing her passion for Africa around the topics of food, African travel, culture and budget travel. Her case of wanderlust started in 2003 when she embarked on a journey backpacking from Joburg to Malawi. She resigned from her day job in 2013, to pursue her travel dreams. Since then she has been on the road, in the air, planning her next trip or sharing her findings and travel tips online.

Stumbling across such a culture rich, travel and adventurous blog, is a blessing for anyone in need of more adventure in their life. She showcases Africa as a top travel destination and paints the picture that one does not need to seek adventure internationally as Africa just has so much to offer. Local travel is not showcased enough and many of the experiences and treasure troves out there are unknown to many. However, MzansiGirl is doing a brilliant job of leading us to some of  Africa’s most mesmerizing and wondrous spots.

She sums herself up pretty well in the following words. “I’m an Afrophile at heart – I love African travel, music and festivals. I love the energy of African cities, her amazing people, the sounds of the bush, the fabulous sunsets, diverse cultures and beauty everywhere. I’ve spent 8 years working in the tourism sector in all aspects from running a backpacker hostel, to working for South Africa’s only tourism NGO and eventually working in tourism policy in national government. ‘’ Says MzansiGirl.

MzansiGirl doesn’t just have a passion for all things travel, she has a love and a passion for people. She has involved herself in several volunteering programs, with MySchool and other NGO’s across South Africa. Her love for her country and devotion towards people and the greater good make her a true African leader. This powerhouse of a woman is everywhere. If you follow her social feeds you will be taken through the hills and African horizons, exposed to culture rich destinations, tantalized by her discovery of divine foods and get the low down on whats hip and happening in Joburg.  Her passion and authentic voice are what makes her blog and social media feeds stand out from the rest.  Mzansigirl’s feeds are not the typical airbrushed Bali girl type content,  instead she gives real insight into the authentic adventures and experiences Africa has to offer. She adds her own unique flavor and energy to her writings, missions and in all she does.

With an appetite for adventure and her love for people, MzansiGirl is flying over hurdles and making every day count. We love local travel and if you do to, she is bringing all the secrets and travel tips you need to turn your travel dreams into a reality.#localiszappa #localtravel
